Details: This is the second of the joint National Museum of Ireland/Royal Irish Academy series on Dublin excavations which reports on structures unearthed in the course of the National Museum's excavations in old Dublin. About 150 wooden artefacts bearing carved decorations were recovered from the Dublin excavations of 1962-81. The archaeological contexts of these artefacts were more precise than any hitherto available for material dated on stylistic grounds. Here the complete corpus of decorated wood is presented, together with a commentary on the styles and chronology.
