The masthead still carries LEAGUE OF IRELAND PREMIER DIVISION CHAMPIONS 1992/93, and the cover portrait is DAVE BARRY, captioned 'City's midfield general' — the same Dave Barry who would be managing the club, and winning the FAI Cup with it, four years later.

Chairman PAT O'DONOVAN writes a notably civic-minded welcome to a top-of-the-table game, with a special word for the Rovers manager RAY TREACY and an appeal about conduct: 'I also hope it's a very good game and well attended and that both sets of supporters will enjoy the atmosphere and will behave in the right spirit. Games like these need to be a good advertisement for the League of Ireland... Whatever the outcome it's only a game and we will still be friends and look forward to meeting again at the R.D.S. in early April' — a reminder that Shamrock Rovers were then homeless and playing their home games at the RDS in Ballsbridge.
