Nine months after announcing that work would begin on the new ground, chairman PAT O'DONOVAN reports on progress at Bishopstown: 'We expect the delivery of some drawings to our builders in the next few days. We would then hope to begin work on the stand/complex very soon. With the promise of an outstanding grant from the F.A.I. and the support of our sponsors and a number of fundraisers to be announced shortly, we hope to finance the building of the stand and accommodation. We also expect to have a floodlighting system in place for next season.'

He also answers a press report: 'I was surprised to see a newspaper story suggesting a couple of players are in dispute with the club, as this is not how the board of directors or management see it. As promised we will continue to strengthen the team when necessary and have been in touch with a couple of players who were highly recommended and could help maintain our League challenge and improve our Cup chances.'
