FAI chief executive JONATHAN HILL writes about the two cup final managers, DAMIEN DUFF and RUAIDHRÍ HIGGINS, both of whom he had worked with in Stephen Kenny's international coaching team: 'Ruaidhrí left us because Philip O'Doherty made him an offer he couldn't refuse to manage his beloved Derry City and already that move is paying off for both men. The Candystripes pushed Shamrock Rovers all the way in the title race this season.' And then, remarkably, he endorses a manager's public attack on his own league's facilities: 'Damien, as we all know, is a man who knows his own mind and is never afraid to speak it. His comments on the state of League of Ireland facilities when he was appointed to the Shelbourne job a year ago last week were a timely reminder to many of one of the biggest challenges facing the League. Those comments, wholly accurate by the way, are fuelling ongoing discussions with Government, national and local.'
