FAI PRESIDENT TONY FITZGERALD welcomes all four clubs: 'For all four teams, this is their first appearance on Cup Finals Day at the Aviva Stadium.' On the men's final: 'Dundalk have travelled down the M1 motorway in search of their tenth victory in the competition and are hoping to complete the League and Cup double for only the third time in their history while CORK CITY ARE LOOKING FOR THEIR FIRST TROPHY UNDER JOHN CAULFIELD having pushed Dundalk all the way over the past two seasons.' On the women's: 'Wexford Youths come to the Aviva also looking to complete the League and Cup double... They face a Shelbourne side that, following their summer amalgamation, contains many of the RAHENY UNITED players who have won back-to-back FAI Cups here at the Aviva Stadium.'

NIAMH O'DONOGHUE, chairperson of the Women's Football Association of Ireland, congratulates referee PAULA BRADY and her team on their appointment and writes of 'a significant rise in the profile and awareness of women's football'. The men's final was refereed by DAVE McKEON.

Dundalk won the men's final 1-0 to complete the double.
