Page 3 is the one to read. Player-manager LAWRIE SANCHEZ writes about semi-final day itself: 'For the winners there is the election of a Final in May and all the anticipation of a great day out. For the losers the feeling of being so close is compounded daily as you read about and follow the exploits of the victors as they prepare for the Final and think "that could have been us". Someone once said you never remember the names of the semi-final losers — it can be a cruel game at times.'

Then he remembers his own: 'I still vividly remember my only other semi-final in 1988. We played Luton at Tottenham. Against the run of play MICK HARFORD — who ironically now plays for Wimbledon — put Luton ahead. However justice was done when a DENNIS WISE goal and a JOHN FASHANU penalty put us through to Wembley... Hopefully, I will be feeling the same at 4.30 p.m. to-day.'

The man writing is the one who scored Wimbledon's winning goal in the 1988 FA Cup final itself. Match sponsor The Embassy; page 15 carries the full 1994/95 record including the European Cup Winners' Cup. Sixteen pages.
