The club has battled for some time with an injury and suspension situation that has taken its toll. The ambition has not gone; supporters will realise that the ultimate aim of improving the squad depends on obtaining the right recruits, and there have been only two occasions since October 1986 on which the full squad has been fully available - so the side has acquitted itself infinitely better over the season than the bare table suggests. Alan McLaren and Sean Docherty continue to be recognised by the Scottish Under-16 team. He draws attention to the Supporters Rally at the Playhouse on Sunday 26 April 1987, the proceeds going to The Walter Kidd Testimonial Fund, with tickets at GBP4 and GBP3 for the star-studded spectacular.
