Chairman DERMOT KELLY welcomes the champions of the previous two seasons from Phibsborough — 'a great club with a great tradition of playing football in the style and spirit intended' — and recalls an earlier 2-1 home defeat by them as 'an excellent football game in an open attacking match'. With the title race still open he notes that 'every team is fighting for points and there will be no easy games between now and the end of the season'.

The other half of his message is a frank appeal for money: the club was running a 'Name The Stand Draw' to raise 'badly needed funds', an effort he calls crucial to the finances, and asking for volunteers to sell tickets. A useful document of a League of Ireland club's position in 2010, a year before Sligo won the FAI Cup.
