Official matchday programme for the Scottish League Cup: Aberdeen v Hearts, 18 August 1965, at Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen. Kick-off 7.30pm, official programme 6d. The cover carries the Aberdeen Football Club Ltd, Pittodrie Park, Season 1965-66 device with portraits of the two managers — T. Walker of Heart of Midlothian and E. H. Turnbull of Aberdeen. The club notes record the retirement of assistant secretary Mr Robert Whyte, who had served the club faithfully, and thank him for his knowledge and personality. Manchester United are noted as charging in excess of £12,000 for their heated centre stand. The club announces that it has increased the number of pages in its half-time programme to include more interesting features, and that every issue throughout the season will contain a full-page photograph of an Aberdeen player, duly signed — possible only with the co-operation received from the visiting team on the day they appear at Pittodrie. Supporters are asked to arrive early for the following Saturday's visit of 'the famous Rangers', kick-off 3pm. Two full team photographs of the Aberdeen F.C. players of 1965-66 are reproduced, naming Ravn, Winchester, Bennett, Ogston, M'Cormick, Smith, Little, Millar, Shewan, White and Wilson in one, and Whyte, Burns, Stewart, Petersen, M'Cabe, Clark, Hermiston, Kirkland, Finnie, Mortensen, M'Millan, M'Meechan, Ian White, Noble, Lister, Scott, Fraser and Robb in the other.
