A north-west derby with everything on it. Chairman John McNulty does not understate it: 'Tonight there is no league points on offer, there is no next round of the cup to progress to. The prize being given out on Saturday night is a place in the Premier Division next season. Both ourselves and Derry know that one of us will be playing in the Premier and one of us will be playing First Division football next season.' He calls it 'a crying shame that both these clubs won't be playing in the Premier Division', and thanks the thousand Harps supporters who had travelled to Bray the previous Saturday. The manager is NOEL KING, later Republic of Ireland Under-21 manager and senior caretaker.

The standout feature is 'Harps in Europe', looking back at the club's first two European outings — and it reproduces the cover of the souvenir programme for FINN HARPS v ABERDEEN, UEFA Cup first round second leg, Wednesday 3 October 1973, price tenpence. The account of the Bursaspor tie names the side — Peter Hutton, Tony O'Doherty, Jim Sheridan, Paddy McGrory, Hilary Carlyle, BRENDAN BRADLEY, Charlie Ferry — and records that admission in Ballybofey was £1 for the ground and 50p extra for the stand, that kick-off depended on the light, and that the programme itself 'was late in arriving and was only available at half time'.
